Two years and counting

We’re just getting started!

The first two years of Big Oak Tree Media (BOTM) have seen a tremendous amount of success – a growing roster of clients, workshops and speaking engagements for our leadership in Houston and beyond, and new team members joining our ranks. BOTM is well on its way to achieving new milestones doing what we enjoy most, telling great stories.

We couldn’t be more grateful to all our friends, family, clients, staff and supporters who have made this journey possible for our team.

You are appreciated.

You are valued.

Thank you!

¡Que siga la fiesta!

Let the good times roll!

At this year’s 9th annual Hispanicize Event in Miami, Florida our Juan Alanis received the award for the Best Content Creator Blogger of the year. He was just one of three Houstonians to receive an award at the national event for Latino trendsetters and digital creatives.

Juan was recognized for his work on the award-winning blog, Juan of Words, which he and his wife founded in 2010. Juan also served as a member of the National Advisory Board for Hispanicize for the second year in a row.

Last July, the BOTM team spearheaded the first ever Hispanicize Texas event in Houston.

Pero Like, Hola Houston!

Two years and counting

BuzzFeed’s Pero Like team made a definite splash in Houston recently when they were invited by our team to experience the Bayou City as part of a customized influencer activation.

From NASA to Teotihuacan Mexican Cafe, on Airline Drive, Houstonians from all walks of life stopped Curly, Maya and Claudia from Pero Like to say hello and snap a selfie with them, of course!

The trio loved Houston and Texas so much they vowed to come back soon to the Lone Star State. To date, their online videos about Houston have been viewed more than 1 million times.

The BOTM Story

We started Big Oak Tree Media in 2016 because we had a vision for establishing a Houston-based business with a passion for telling stories. After more than 30 years of combined work experience in the fields of communications, social and digital media, marketing, journalism and more, we knew we had an exciting business proposition to make to potential clients.

Quality work, experience and a commitment to doing things right.

We were thrilled to have our Creative Director, Anjelica Cazares sit down with ABC 13 Houston recently to share a bit more of our journey.
